It all started in Des Moines

I was 19, flipping couches out of storage units and posting TikToks just trying to get something to catch. I’d clean them up, throw on a trending sound, post — and most of the time it flopped. 12 likes. Maybe 100 views. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I was trying. I was chasing something. I just didn’t know what yet.

The $3,200 GMC That Changed It All

On September 10th, 2024, I bought a $3,200 GMC. The plan was simple: buy it, clean it, flip it. Quick money. But something about it felt different. Like it had more to give — and so did I. I brought up the idea of actually building it to my girlfriend. She didn’t hesitate to support me. She cheered louder for me than anyone ever had, and from that moment, I stopped caring who didn’t.

I didn’t know how to turn wrenches. I didn’t grow up in a shop. But I started anyway. I filmed the whole process — mistakes, mess-ups, and all. And on September 25th, 2024… my TikTok started to take off. That one truck flipped my whole life.

What McBuilt Means

McBuilt isn’t about having it all together. It’s about showing up anyway. It’s for the people who start with no clue and figure it out along the way. It’s about doing what you can with what you’ve got — and building something real.

  • No shop? Figure it out.
  • No budget? Make it work.
  • No clue? Learn on the fly.

This brand started with a couch and a dream. It grew with every busted knuckle, every upload, and every "why not?" moment. Not because I knew what I was doing — but because I refused to quit.

If you're thinking about fixing up your truck — start. You don’t need a perfect setup or all the right tools. Just the guts to begin. Learn as you go, mess up, fix it, and keep building. One day you'll look back and realize you built more than a truck — you built something that changed your life.
